iBPCapture App Reviews
Does not work
I downloaded the app but there is no file to run.
Omron does not support MAC products on their website. I was so happy to find this app and it works just wonderfully! Very simple, just plug in your device!
Does not work with my Omron Alvita Wireless Activity Tracker or Series 10 Model BP786N BP monitor. Using version OS X El Capitan executing on my MacBook Pro Retina late 2013 model notebook PC. It seems neither device is recognizable from Bluetooth chip inside Mac, and possibly this program can’t therefore intercept and sync with the hardware devices.
Works as advertised, plug yur device (in my case Omron HEM-790IT), do not start it. Then run the program, it will pull all the data and save it in /Users/<user>/Documents/iBPCapture/Report/ . I do wish there were more options like where to save the document, or the file format, but until I can do better, it’s what I got nd I’m happy enough with it.
amazing app
This app is supporting all the omron meters!
My previous review was due to a mistake on my part. My Omiron BP Wrist is NOT one of the ones covered by this app. My apologies. Also, despite what the first review says, this does NOT support all Imrion BP monitors. The one review on this site claims that all omrion bp monitors are supported, This is not true.
Just downloads data you have saved to your device and puts it in a PDF format. Nothing fancy. I guess If you want to keep your doctor up to date on your health via email this is good but otherwise pretty basic.
BPCapture is a simple data capture program designed to retrieve BP data from certain OMRON blood pressure meters or Distance Data from certain OMRON Pedometers. The software works as advertised. Nothing fancy. You can save the data in either PDF or TXT format. If you have Adobe online account you can use their online converter to MS Word or Excel. I do not have a Pedometer, but I am looking forward to this developer to expanding to other medical devices that can connect to Macs. We need to support him. I would like to find out how to get doctors to accept BP data via email since they are all concerned about HIPPA requirements. In the mean time I can still save data to thumb drive or print them out.
How about saving data in formats other than a PDF?
I wish it also saved a csv file (or something similar) so I can do my own plots or process the data.
It really shouldnt be priced this high just because it extracts your data and puts it into a PDF. I could just use Pages to do that myself. It needs to have some way of sharing it or making it into a graph. That would make it better. I wish I could get my money back since this is such a basic app and not worth the money.
only partly worked on BP791IT
wasted $5. wish it worked
After it downloads the data, you need to be given the option to purge or clear the memory, especially in the case of the Omron Pedometer. Otherwise you are still seeing the blinking "Bi" symbol on the screen (indicating memory is full and overwrite is happening). I would love it, if it generated a text file of the data -versus- dumping to a PDF and doing some analysis on it. I also would like to see the dates that the Omron records in each record. This would be immensly helpful! Keep up the great work - finally something on the Mac that can read this little device!
So, I got a macbook and gave my Dad my old Windows PC. I recently moved and got a new Primary Care MD and wanted to share my BP data from my Omron BP791IT. I went to Omron’s site to look for a MacOS version and they didn’t have it. I gogled away and saw Microsoft Healthvault, but that is for iOS devices only. While I didn’t want to spend $5 on a super basic App, this accomplished just what I needed. After installing the software, I plugged in my BP monitor and the device started to dump the records just like the video shows. Then a PDF popped up with all the data sorted by date. Worked perfectly! YES, I would prefer to be able to export the data to CSV, but this gets the job done. as to the price, well, supply and demand I suppose. At least there IS an option now for Mac users! Kudos for making this app, Sir.
Worked on my HEM-790IT. Omron doesn’t support Macs. I was happy to find this. Doesn’t have all the features of the official Omron software, but at least gets all the numbers to show your doctor. Kind of expensive, but so is a heart attack.
What a difference! If you’ve worked with Omron reports on a Microsoft platform - you’ll be disappointed. No charts or graphs. No Irregular Heat Beat data reported. No ‘one click’ sending the report to your doctor. I did know Mac doesn’t support Omron before spending $5.00 on this bare bones app. Hopefully someone will come of with a more fully compatible Omron "APP for that."
This is a simple app for extracting BP history from some Omron BP meters such as the BP791IT and reporting them in tabular form as a PDF file. But that is all it does. Simple or not, it functions well enough I would have rated it five stars if it offered an alternative CSV output for importation into a spreadsheet or database such as Numbers, Excel, or Filemaker.
won’t open
paid for this. installed app but when I try to open nothing happens. restarted computer and reinstalled. Nothing! Money down the drain.
Using iBPCapture with OMRON Model BP786 10 Series Monitor, iMac computer with Yosemite OS, Bluetooth enabled. After trying with the Monitor on and/or off, Bluetooth on iMac won’t recognize the Monitor, and nothing happens on trying to open the iBPCapture app.. So far, wasted $ on a non-functioning app!
I’ve got an OMRON BP791IT for which OMRON provides no software support for the OS X. I’m running OS X El Capitan 10.11.2 and was curious to try this out. At first the app appears to do nothing as there is no GUI. You have to have your BP machine connected. The trick is to right click on the icon in the dock and select "start capture”. The only outputs is a pdf format file (saved to DocumentsiBPCaptureReportmm-dd-yyyyReport_BloodPressure_M7222IT. Nno extension is added. The data download rate is sluggish …. maybe 2 or 3 records per second. For what it is, this is not what one expects from the App Store !
